LeBron James will play his 21st season in the NBA in 2023/24, and one of his great rivals, Klay Thompson, spoke about it. Visiting Paul George’s podcast, Podcast P Show, he talked about his trajectory, career and returning to the courts after two years off. In addition, he spoke about the feeling of still facing the star of the Los Angeles Lakers.

“Man, I had some luck in the league. Even with the injuries, I’m still here to compete and try for a fifth title. So I have no regrets or regrets about anything that happened. I would live it all over again. Without changing a single thing. Even my bruises. Ultimately, it’s all part of the process,” explained the winger.

“I’m still with the guys I started with. So it’s me, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. We also have our longtime companions in Steve Kerr and Andre Iguodala. Anyway, I’m in my franchise, in my house and with the guys I’ve always enjoyed playing with. It’s a blessing,” reflects one of the greatest pitchers of all time.

Then some great dialogue between the stars led to Klay Thompson’s speech about LeBron James. George commented on his injuries which led to the pitcher’s reflection.

“Wow, that hurts. I’ve had six surgeries too, major problems and I don’t have championship rings to show for it.”

Then, the Warriors idol recalled that George was an inspiration to him when his injuries hit. On the other hand, the Clippers star again cited the lack of a title.

“I’ve never had to carry an entire franchise on my shoulders like you. I watched you in the playoffs. I remember losing to the Clippers in the first round and being on vacation very early. I don’t really like remembering. But you were there, doing amazing things like that dunk on Chris Andersen. He did great things. Lost only to a generational team, which was LeBron’s Miami Heat.”

Thus, Thompson joked about the presence of the Lakers forward in the NBA to this day.

“And the worst thing is, he’s still here. This is crazy, I can’t believe it. He eliminated us last year in the postseason. My God, it’s unbelievable that this man can still do these things.”

Devin Booker

In addition, the number 11 recalled his encounter with Devin Booker, during the 2022/23 regular season. At the time, many provocations happened between the two, which irritated the veteran. As a result, he was ejected with two technical fouls. The Phoenix Suns star scored 34 points in the duel, in a quiet victory for the team over Golden State by 134 to 105.

“Yes, I was angry. To help me, he was tearing me apart that day. I wasn’t where I needed to be on both sides of the court. I know it hasn’t aged well for me, mostly because I don’t have to keep doing it. We all have our weak moments and I’m man enough to admit that this was one of them. So I’m not proud of that,” Thompson explained.

“I guess I’m not proud. That’s why I should look at Booker and say I’m happy for this kid. He survived a tough rebuilding regime in Phoenix with a number of players being traded. Ultimately, he is the face of the franchise as he worked really hard every day to change things up there. I admire guys who have that kind of work ethic after all,” he finished.
