Lovers of arcade shooting games are in luck, because Bitwave Gamesa video game developer and publisher specializing in retro entertainment and part of Embracer Freemode, today released the second installment in the Toaplan shmup saga, with the Toaplan Arcade Shoot ‘Em Up Collection Vol.2 available on Steam and GOG.

This collection brings together some of the best titles in the genre created by the masters of Toaplan, a Japanese company that marked an era in the 80s and 90s with its frantic and challenging action games. Following the success of the first installment, Bitwave Games has continued to work diligently and listen to community feedback to offer a selection of carefully restored and enhanced games designed by and for fans.

The Toaplan Arcade Shoot ‘Em Up Collection Vol.2 includes the following games:

Hellfire – Toaplan’s first side shooter, with stunning graphics and a rockin’ soundtrack. If you can’t take the heat from hell, at least you can enjoy his music.
Flying Shark– Take to the skies while raining armor-piercing bullets and experience the arcade game Flying Shark (also known as Sky Shark).
Slap Fight: Buckle up and fight computer power with the only power that matters: FIRE! Toaplan’s vertical game Slap Fight (also known as Alcon) stands out for its meter-based power-ups and strategic gameplay.
Fire Shark: An evil and powerful military force is about to conquer not just a small country, but the entire world… so get ready for some classic shooting action in Fire Shark.

In addition to the original games, the collection adds a host of enhancements and options that make the experience more enjoyable and accessible for today’s gamers, without altering the balance and difficulty that make each game so exciting. From minimal input lag and seamless or full screen scaling, to quick saves, practice mode, and Steam achievements, Toaplan Arcade Shoot ‘Em Up Collection Vol.2 It is ideal for both novices and experts. And new to this collection, a mirror mode has been added, allowing for a new level of challenge for shmup professionals. Other features are:
