The Basketball World Cup has begun. With full coverage of Jumper Brasil, know where to watch the game between USA x New Zealand, this Saturday. While Steve Kerr’s selection comes with a completely different squad from the last edition, New Zealand is betting on a reconstruction in search of a leader.
USA
Always a contender for the World Cup title, the US team did not do well in the last edition, finishing only in seventh position. But for 2023, coach Steve Kerr has not called up anyone who participated in the 2019 Worlds. Then assistant to Gregg Popovich, Kerr took over after the Tokyo Olympics. By the way, the North American team came out with the gold of that competition. Now, with a completely renewed group, the bet may be on the methods of the Golden State Warriors coach.
According to Kerr, he would be using Warriors plays on the USA team. The likely starting quintet should have Jalen Brunson, Anthony Edwards, Mikal Bridges, Brandon Ingram and Jaren Jackson Jr.
In friendlies, there was concern about how the team would play against other world forces, but the group responded with six wins in six games.

New Zealand
Former New Zealand player and assistant Pero Cameron is the national team coach. He hoped to have center Steven Adams for the World Cup, but the Memphis Grizzlies center suffered an injury that sidelined him for much of last season. Now, Cameron bets on the renewal of the cast.
“We’re very excited about the new players and we’ll see how they handle Worlds, but it’s a young group,” said Cameron. “So we miss some veterans from previous campaigns, which is natural. But we are mindful of young athletes and want to see their impact here.”
Despite participating in the last edition, New Zealand finished in a modest 19th place.
